The 2008 is deep red in colour with garnet tints. The nose is full of mulberry and liquorice notes. Merlot has given a velvet textured palate, with intense cassis and fine grained tannins from the Syrah, as well as a lingering, complex vanilla and spice finish from 18 months ageing in French oak.

The 2008 growing season began slowly and as flowering took place in rather cool conditions, the yields for this year were low. The abundant rain in the first half of the summer meant that the vines were sufficiently well watered for even ripening. Low yields meant fruit concentration levels were good. The wines are highly aromatic with soft, juicy tannins and great natural freshness.

The 2008 is a 50/50 blend of Syrah and Merlot.
