This traditional, elegant single vintage tawny has the most intricate nose of orange peel, hazelnuts, cherries and toast. These characters are finely intertwined with luscious sweetness and gentle acidity on the palate with an amazingly long finish.
Krohn are a small family-owned Port house renowned for the quality of their sublime Colheitas (single vintage tawnies). Fermentation of the traditional Tinta Roriz, Touriga nacional and Touriga Francesca grapes takes place in open granite tanks called 'lagares', where the grapes are trodden by foot. Fermentation is interrupted by the addition of grape spirit to preserve a certain degree of sweetness. All ageing takes place in 547 litre oak barrels (the traditional port 'pipe') and in larger casks. Bottled to order.
