GARY PLAYER BOTTLE SIGNING - 24 HOURS TO GO! |

Tomorrow evening at 6.30pm in Waterstone's, St Andrews, we will present a wine bottle and book signing with multiple golf Major winner Gary Player. We will showcase his Muirfield and Augusta wines which Gary will sign at the event. These will be available on the night (payment by cash or cheque) or you can leave a small cash deposit and complete the order by card at the Warehouse over the coming days. The wines are presented - one of each - in a wine box, and availability is strictly limited to 30 boxes. Once they're gone, they're gone, so grab one while you can at £75 per box of two wines.

Over 100 happy campers enjoy Aitkens Annual Tasting and BBQ |

Thursday 24th June saw a hundred or so of our closest friends enjoy the annual Tasting BBQ at the warehouse.
Winemaker Graham Wharmby charmed the crowd with his witty repartee and good looks (it says here) as he presented a light and flavourful Sangiovese, a pink and fluffy Chiaretto rose and a very popular Trebbiano d'Abruzzo full of summery fruit. These are all perfect summer wines and are currently available at the warehouse and in the Broughty Ferry shop.
Graham also showcased his own wine, Conan the Barbera which at £12.99 delivers everything a big Barbera should, and more. We sold out shortly after the tasting but more is due in tomorrow.
Gilbert Grossett and his team graced the occasion with barbecued delights including Italian sausages to match the wines on offer, and the Parlour Cafe from the West Port provided a spectacular CousCous platter so beautifully presented that it was (almost) a shame to spoil it by eating it. But we did.
Same time next year for the BBQ tasting!
We'll take a break from the monthly tastings this month, with the next one scheduled for the last Thursday in August, 7pm till 9pm at the warehouse - see you there!

AITKEN'S BIG CHRISTMAS TASTINGS - 26TH NOV & 3RD DEC |

Aitken's BIG Christmas tastings are our most popular nights of the year and we have decided to split these over 2 dates as follows:
Thursday 26th November - 'OLD WORLD'
We are lucky enough to have 3 of our main suppliers supporting us for this event along with the awrd-winning Scottish winemaker Pamela Geddes. On the night, we will have over 25 premium wines available for tasting including:
France - Bordeaux, Burgundy, Loire & Languedoc
Spain - Rioja, Ribera del Duero & Somontano
Italy - Piedmont, Tuscany & Acquileia
Portugal - award-winning ports from Krohn's
Thursday 3rd December - 'NEW WORLD'
We will have 4 suppliers with us on this night offering premium wines from the following parts of the world:
> Australia & New Zealand
> South Africa
> Chile & Argentina
In addition to the above, we will also have a MALT WHISKEY & FRUIT LIQUEUR tasting on offer.
Both nights are very different and offer the chance to taste over 25 different wines for a very festive £5 per person!! Doors open at 6pm for both nights and the fun continues until 9pm, so come along and make the most of what prove to be very special nights!!

LITTLEFORD ESTATE TASTING IN THE FERRY - SATURDAY 13TH JUNE |

Syd and Roberta Littleford will be at our Broughty Ferry shop on Saturday 13th June from 11am 'til 3pm to give people the chance to taste some of their stunning wines from Western Australia. This Scottish couple went to Australia in the 90's to fulfil their dream of producing great wines and bringing these to the UK. With the help of their consultant winemaker John Wade, they are achieving this and there will be some great wines on offer including their unoaked chardonnay, riesling, sauvignon blanc and shiraz. It's open doors and admission is free so why not pop along and sample some stunning wines?!?! |

THE BIG AITKEN'S BBQ - THURSDAY, 23RD JULY |

Due to popular demand and the success of last year's event, we're having another barbie at the warehouse!!! Once again, this will be in association with Gilbert Grossett from GROSSETTS OF TAYSIDE and we'll be serving up some amazing wines to go with premium barbecue sausages and burgers. The event will run from 6.30pm 'til 8.30pm and tickets are selling fast so be sure to book early to avoid disappointment!!! PREMIUM WINES NIGHT WITH DAVID GLEAVE MW - APRIL 2009 |

We were lucky enough to have David Gleave MW (one of only 256 Masters of Wine in the world at the last count!!) with us at the end of April for another well attended evening. Some of David's own wines were flowing on the night which included DELTA's Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc & Pinot Noir from New Zealand, two super Tuscans from Poggiotondo, Italy and probably the best Aussie Shiraz we've tasted called GREENSTONE Heathcote Shiraz. It was also a chance to taste another great Aussie range called WILLUNGA 100 from McLaren Vale which included a crisp Shiraz Viognier, a smooth Cabernet Shiraz and a truly outstanding Grenache. David really had to roll his sleeves up on the night but said he had a really enjoyable evening so we hope to have him back again soon!!! |

THE BIG ITALIAN NIGHT - MAY 2009 |

We had another full house at the warehouse at the end of May for our Italian night in association with our newest supplier ZONIN wines and with authentic Italian food being supplied by our friends at CAFE SICILIA. Over 10 outstanding wines were on show on the night with our Castello del Poggio Barbera d'Asti and Moscato d'Asti stealing the show along with Zonin's own Prosecco Special Cuvee, their Valpolicella Superiore Ripasso and their Soave also being very well received.
